Pricing questions

How much does a private New Zealand tour cost?

Expect NZD $400 to $700 per person per day for a standard private tour including accommodation, private vehicle and driver-guide, and a daily activity. Shorter trips and peak-season dates sit at the higher end of each band.

How much should I budget for New Zealand?

As a planning figure, a 10 day standard private tour for two travellers is roughly NZD $8,000 to $14,000 in total. Add international flights and personal spending on top of that.

Is a private tour worth it?

A private tour costs more than self-driving but removes the planning, the driving on unfamiliar roads and the risk of missing sold-out activities. It is most worthwhile on short trips and in peak season, when the best accommodation and activities book out months ahead.
